- If paper must be used, consider purchasing FSC paper, which is created in a sustainable method, and minimises impact on biodiversity
- Introduce towel dryers or electric hand-dryers to avoid paper use
- Provide silverware and ceramic mugs and encourage staff to bring their own water flasks. This will also lead to monetary savings.

Green Energy
- Opt for a “green” electricity tariff, which ensures your electricity is sourced from renewable energy sources.
- Or generate your own through the use of green electricity through solar photovoltaics or wind turbines.
- Calculate your businesses carbon footprint to identify where carbon savings can be achieved
Green procurement
- Try to use local suppliers where possible to reduce the impacts of long distance transportation.
- Choose things that are recyclable and repairable
- Aim for maximum energy efficiency in appliances (A++), and consider life cycle cost
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained to maximise the life expectancy
