Eco Friendly Journeys
Walk, Cycle, Public Transport or Car Sharing
Where possible choose to walk and cycle as these forms of transport do not add any greenhouse gas emissions. If longer distances are required why not use Public Transport or car share with neighbours, friends or fellow colleagues for example, in order to reduce our individual Carbon footprints.
Cut back on flying – For work meetings, use digital technologies such as (Teams, Webex, Skype) to avoid the need for long distance transportation.
Instead of a plane, use a train or boat where possible- carbon production is significantly lower for a train or boat journey than a plane.
Consider Investing in an Electric Vehicle
The fact that no carbon dioxide emissions are released while driving not only improves air quality but also reduces greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. Make sure to check electricity used to charge EV comes from renewable energy in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions further.
You will not be able to buy a new petrol or diesel car or van by 2030, and a Hybrid car or van by 2035.

Avoid driving to work whenever possible– cycle to work schemes, public transport and car sharing schemes all provide significant reductions in carbon.
Embracing remote work or telecommuting options reduces the need for daily commuting, thereby decreasing emissions associated with transportation. Virtual meetings and remote collaboration tools enable employees to work from home while reducing their carbon footprint.
If an electric vehicle is beyond your budget, consider taking steps to ensure your car is running as efficiently as possible: Avoid rapid acceleration, avoid leaving the car “idling”, ensure tyre pressures are optimal (can increase fuel efficiency by up to 25%)
